| There are moments that make you stop and appreciate the people you have the privilege of working alongside. This week was one of those moments.
On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend the Chester City Council meeting as our Operations Manager, Tiffany Kea, was recognized by Mayor Stefan Roots and the Chester City Council for her Outstanding Community Service.
As Tiffany walked to the front of the room to accept the proclamation, I listened closely as Councilwoman Tameka Williams read the words prepared on behalf of the Mayor and the City of Chester. With each sentence, it became increasingly clear that this recognition wasn’t about one moment or one accomplishment. It was about years of showing up for the people of Chester with compassion, consistency, and commitment. Awards often capture a single moment, but this one represented something much bigger. It reflected years of steady, faithful service. Years of pouring herself into others. Years that Tiffany spent investing in people, solving problems, building relationships, and becoming someone her community could count on.
This proclamation recognized Tiffany’s exceptional dedication to the City of Chester, highlighting her leadership and service to families, youth, and the community. It acknowledged the profound impact she has made in the lives of Chester residents and described her commitment to helping others as an inspiration to all.
For those of us at Chester Eastside, these words came as no surprise. We see Tiffany’s heart every day. We see it in the countless details she manages behind the scenes, in the sincere care she shows every person she encounters, and in the way she approaches every challenge with determination, positivity and grace. While much of her work happens quietly, its effect can be felt far beyond our walls.
Watching her receive this honor was a proud moment, not only for Tiffany, but for everyone connected to Chester Eastside. Her recognition reflects the values that guide our mission every day. Tiffany’s example emphasizes that leadership isn’t measured by titles or accolades, but by the lives we touch along the way. It should remind all of us that work done quietly, faithfully, and consistently has a way of reaching farther than we often realize, creating ripples throughout an entire community. What made the moment even more meaningful was hearing Tiffany speak after receiving the proclamation. With every reason to celebrate her own accomplishments, Tiffany chose instead to shine a light on Chester Eastside, the work we do every day, and the continued need to ensure our community has access to the support, resources, and care they deserve.
Although I’ve only been with Chester Eastside for a short time, it didn’t take long to understand why Tiffany is so deeply respected. This recognition simply offered the rest of the city the opportunity to see what our staff and community have known for years: that Tiffany’s dedication has helped make Chester a stronger, more compassionate place.
Please join everyone at Chester Eastside, and throughout our city, in celebrating this incredible and well-deserved honor. Congratulations, Tiffany! We are proud to celebrate this milestone with you and grateful for the example you continue to set every day.
