Let the Appeal Begin!

The 40th Anniversary Annual Appeal is officially open to receive your support. What is special about this year’s appeal?
– We are celebrating 40 years of service on the east side of Chester.
– This year’s appeal comes in the midst of challenges we never could have imagined: cuts to our funding to feed hungry people, demand increasing exponentially as our guests are also victims of federally-backed cuts in support, and the continued rise in the cost of food.
– In our feeding programs we have seen a 35% increase in the number of people and meals served from a year ago.
– Meanwhile, we struggle and strive to keep our other programs from suffering as a result of the cuts in our feeding programs.
Finally, four donors have offered a total of $40,000 to encourage increased giving. For every $3.00 your offer, $1.00 will be added from the matching fund.

Just as the need is increasing exponentially, the gift you offer will be multiplied as – together – we do all we can to meet the growing needs of the ones we serve.

Beyond the appeal, you can also…
– offer a recurring contribution that becomes foundational in planning for, and meeting, the needs of those we serve;
– donate food: chicken or beef either frozen or fresh, rice and beans, cereals, peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, pasta and sauce, and tuna fish can be brought any weekday between 8:30am and 4:00pm;
– volunteer in any of our programs; we are especially seeking individuals who can assist in picking up and delivering food donations for the food pantry.

In whatever way you choose to support our mission, and especially on behalf of our guests, we are grateful for the gift of your time, energies, and resources.

And in the midst of it all…we reveled in the joyful strains of our students living into their alter-egos on Halloween. And all that candy . . .
