At the last meeting of the Board of Directors, the members unanimously approved a budget that included two new staff positions!

We are looking for a Program Coordinator for the After-School Program who will lead staff, students, and parents in pursuit of excellence, achievement, and growth. Here is a link to the posting on Indeed.

We are also looking for a Marketing and Communications Associate who will lead our efforts to broaden our communications, deepen our relationships with our current partners, and help expand our base of support. Here is the link to the posting on Indeed.

Guess Who’s Goin’ to Philly?

Under the leadership of our “garden guru”, Doug Crosby, Chester Eastside will have an exhibit in this year’s Philadelphia Flower Show! We are entered in the Garden Class where this year’s theme is “Community – Where We Garden”. Our exhibit will represent our community and children’s gardens and tell the story of where we garden – and how our gardens build community.

As you can imagine, it is a daunting challenge – that also offers lots of opportunities to volunteer! Here’s what we’re looking for:

• help with installing the exhibit on Wednesday the 25th and Thursday the 26th;
• help maintain the exhibit each morning from Saturday the 28th to Sunday, March 8;
• help with tear down on Sunday, March 8, beginning at 8:00pm.

Diapers!

Over the last couple of years we have been doing our best to meet the demand for diapers. Recently our suppliers have been getting fewer so our supplies are suffering as well. If you are able to donate diapers, sizes 5-6 are the most common. We have an account with Amazon so you can use this link to purchase diapers – or anything else on our list – and your order will be shipped to us! And if you prefer Target, you can use this link.

Don’t Forget…

For all volunteers, staff, and board members, tomorrow being the first Wednesday of the month, we will gather in the dining room at CEI at 1:00pm to connect and share updates about our programs and services – and enjoy a tasty and spirited lunch!
